WHOA! Right out of the gate the horror begins and I feel for Lena, the terror she must feel as she crouches, hidden in her parents closet, praying the police will arrive.

OH NO! Please tell me it isn’t so. Kristine, WTF are you doing to me?

Now….we are into present day…

Vigilante justice. I know we can’t have everyone running out killing willy nilly in the name of justice, but DAMMIT, sometimes scum needs to be cleaned off the face of the earth.

Four women whose lives had been forever changed by tragedy, haunted by their past, unable to move on…found their answer….Retribution. The characters could be you or I, pushed beyond our limits.

When Poppy was dealing with Melissa at the PTA meeting, I loved it. Melissa was totally oblivious to Poppy’s true thoughts. LOL

“A badass PTA mom with a vendetta.”

A farmer with a bone to pick. A waitress serving justice. The characters are flawed with issues and secrets. Makes for some fantastic reading and my emotions are all over the place as I worry about what will happen to them in the end.

I see some ‘rocky’ times ahead for Jagger and Kenna. Jagger is a cop, working the Homicide Unit and Kenna is called in from CORE to help. Both have issues with intimacy and relationships, but Kenna’s secret may be a bit bigger. I do have a problem with Jag and his choice of the Ohio Buckeyes. Wolverines don’t care for nuts. LOL

The sexual tension, and playful teasing has been clean and light…so far, but I think all bets are off on Date #3. I do believe it will turn into a smoldering, sizzling hot romance.

I know they all have to ‘come together’ and I wonder at the ending. I am super curious to see how Kristine will handle Jag and Kenna as the story takes a drastic turn. I am worried because I love happy ever after, but how can it be possible? With CORE involved, anything is possible, isn’t it? CORE is a living, growing organism, making room for new characters through each story.

Man oh man, Kristine how much longer you gonna drag me through the fire…I can’t believe where are you are taking this, but it sure tells me why vigilantism is a big NO!

Kristine definitely captured the meaning of romantic suspense. I love her ability to write humor and love into murder and monsters of the human kind. She can take something I know is coming, and twist and turn it to an even more grisly and jawdropping end, yet invoke a smile or two along the way. My expectations for her work is of the highest levels and she continually surpasses them.

I was right about my thoughts from the very beginning. I’m in your head Kristine. LOL

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Sinful Deeds by Kristine Mason.

After 13 books in this series I should not be surprised at the twisted things this author comes up with for her stories but Sinful Deeds almost left me speechless. After an exceptionally gruesome opening prologue we find out that the players in Sinful are that. There is no set villain as in previous books. Moral lines are crossed so many times my head was left spinning. I am not going to go into detail about what happens in this book as it would be spoilerish but I was not expecting the story I got from this book.

This was the first book in the Sinful C.O.R.E. series and also introduces us to a new section of C.O.R.E that Ian is starting. Should be interesting to see what the future books are going to be about.

Fantastic Read!

I love the whole C.O.R.E. series and was so excited to see where the author was going to take this book!! Or how she was going to end it was a HEA. This storyline was such an awesome idea. I loved the characters!! Especially Poppy, Buttercup and Daisy. I would not want them as enemies!! The story was fast-past and exciting with thrills, suspense and romance. And some gory details which I kinda liked too!! Awesome read!

4.5 Stars! Wow this one is hard to review without giving too much away. This book caught my attention from the very beginning and the gruesome prologue should have warned me to expect the unexpected but I still didn't see this story coming. This book had me tied up in knots and feeling all kinds of things. I was intrigued, shocked and jumped back and forth between how I felt about the actions of some of the characters. Kristine Mason lets you know up front who is doing what so the story is really more about the why and the moral ambiguity of those decisions. The characters aren't bad guys but they aren't always good guys either. There were times when I felt so much compassion for the characters and times when I wanted to shake my head and scream as they let their actions steam roll to take even more extreme actions. All of this with a backdrop of a romance between two characters who had faced tragedy and persevered. I truly loved both the main characters and although their romance happened a bit quicker than I usually like it was still written very well and enjoyable.

I know I didn't say much about this plot but I don't want to give it away! Don't read too much about this book just dive in and get ready for some twists in turns not only in the book but in how you feel as you go along!

A copy of this book was provided to me by the author with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

I love all of Kristine's books and especially love the core series. This book was full of twist and turns and the plot was something I never expected. You figure out early on whose doing what and why but you want to know what is going to happen to them. Very easy to get into, and you want to keep reading. You form your own opinion on how they are handling the issues and how they should. I love the main character's, how the new couple is instantly drawn together and how Ian always has a hand in it somehow. This story line is deep and emotional, really relates to people who have been through trauma and failed justice systems. Can't wait to read more on this couple and others in this series, maybe chase will be next.

Wow! What a phenomenal story! The chemistry between Jag and Kenna makes this story flow. The fact that they both had traumatic events that shaped their youth is also what draws them to each other. This was truly a well written story with a whole new type of storyline. I found myself loving the secondary characters one minute and screaming at them the next. The twists in this story were different that the previous CORE books. Moral lines were blurred as each "session" was completed. I really didn’t see it ending the way it did. But bravo! I loved how it was wrapped up. So get ready for a new kind of story telling. Where the bad guys are the good guys and the victims get what's coming to them.

Women following through with ideas they laughed about during teenage sleepovers? Fairytales, but what about the true, original version- we were likely not told that part of the story as a kid. Interesting, intriguing and in a way twisted. I thoroughly enjoyed the story line in this book. I enjoyed the background that was given on the main women characters, and how they all connected together. I am looking forward to more books with Kenna and Jagger. I'm not one for romance, so personally I could have forgone that but it definitely did add to the storyline. Looking forward to reading the next one as soon as it comes out! I received a free ebook in exchange for my honest review of this book.

I have read all the CORE books and loved every one of them. This book is no exception. At first I was a little disappointed that it wasn't about our favorite alligator loving Russian!! After I got over that!!! I don't know why anything Kristine writes surprises me. This book has a very different twist to it than any of her other books. I don't want to say to much and give away the plot. Nail biting suspense from beginning. A couple both with tragic pasts to overcome. This is a great start to the Sinful Core trilogy. I cant wait to see what this author comes up with next.

Decent read

I wavered between three and four stars. I loved the story including the vigilante aspects of it. It just seemed a bit unrealistic how things ended. I mean, five people are murdered in cold blood and nothing. That part I'm semi ok with because four of the five were scum. Having said that, how can you still be friends with a group of people who set you up, and how can you make a relationship work with someone who lied to your face. Just a bit too tidy of an ending.

Holy sins you will loose your head over this :) hahahha

So Kenna is a anthropologist and forensic facial reconstructionist. She is also visiting Cleveland and has got herself involved in a homicide case. Kenna has a painful past that has left scars and holds her back. Now getting involved with this case is bringing it all screaming back to her. What her and her friends went through at such a young age? I don't know how I would handle it all. So much pain and betrayal. My heart broke for Kenna and her childhood friends. I can understand how they do what they do in a way as I felt the pain and anger through each one of them. I don't think I could ever do it and hope I never have to know. How Kenna thinks and feels is inspiring and I'm just in awe of her.

Jag is a detective in lead of a very strange case, which leads him to Kenna. Jag is a love them and leave them commitment dodger. He has been hurt so now he doesn't give any woman the chance to do it again. He also has his own painful past which made him realise what he wants to do with his life. When he meets Kenna something changes in him and he starts facing actual feelings for women. You can't help but love Jag, even when he is trying to keep a distance with kenna. Because you can see how he feels for her.

I absolutely fell in love with this book. It totally kept me on edge. What is going to happen when the killers are reveled to the police? And what will happen to Kenna? And what will Jag do?
So much emotion in this story i had tears in my eyes through alot of this. This is not a typical find the killer and get justice. This is about revenge and so much more. You don't think like you usually do with this kind of story and it gets you wondering what you would be capable of if you was in these women's shoes.

Awesome read!!!!!

I was very lucky to receive an Advanced copy of this book, but I'm a huge Kristine Mason fan so will one click her books anyway. Kristine is the one author I can read who's words can scare the pants off me but the writing is so enthralling you cannot help but keep reading! Her latest novels are very much for me in the grey area of what we see as right and wrong, and how we all see these differently this is what CORE is all about for me, and very much what Jag has to learn to do for Kenna. The chemistry between these two keeps your turning the pages as you read about Kenna and her friends, what you read is horrific but I cannot help but understand their thinking, and how Jag comes to help the four women. Cannot wait for more from the series, for romance, suspense and writing that keeps you thinking please do pick up this book and the others in the series, you will not be sorry

Another fast and entertaining book written by Kristine Mason. This was a favorite of mine because it is located around the Cleveland area, which I am very familiar with. This book had great characters and an extremely interesting plot. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast paced romantic suspense book. I can't wait for her next book coming out in February!
